totally embarrassed myself in front of my music class lolz

Because of the whole fire situation, my general music class played a game of name that tune (movie edition!) instead of any actual work. We ended the game off with a few horror movie songs. I don't watch very many horror movies with the exception of my favoritest movie of all time, Re-animator. 

I recognized the final song that played as the opening theme and got very excited, even going as far as to draw the entire class's attention to me by yelling "THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE!!!!" It wasn't until I had written down my answer that I began to wonder why we were doing Re-animator of all movies. I was always under the impression that it was somewhat of a classic among horror movie fans, but it's not like it's huge outside of that space. However, I was too blinded by the excitement of my hyperfixation being mentioned to dwell on it. I eagerly awaited the moment my music teacher would announce the movie's title and I'd feel so special for being the only one in my class to know such a #niche #indie #underground movie.

It was Psycho. I confidently announced to the entire room that I knew this song and I didn't. I have never seen Psycho. I quite enjoy showering and would like to keep it that way. I felt like I was losing my mind. I began to stumble over my words like a fucking dumbass. I insisted "no, that's the SAME song, surely something's wrong" blah blah blah blah. Everyone just looked at me like i was nuts. 

It wasn't until a few hours later that i got the chance to look more into it. Indeed, Re-animator's opening theme was heavily heavily HEAVILY inspired by Psycho. Which is funny, considering that in the movie Herbert decapitates Dr. Hill with a shovel for trying to plagiarize his work. Of course, i say this in jest, it seems the intention was to be more of a remix of sorts rather than a direct copy. Still, I utterly embarrassed myself in front of my music teacher. curse you Richard Band !!!!!
