Starting off blogging with a little review of the animes that I'm currently watching, as of the time I'm making this, they are still releasing, so my opinion on them could change as time goes on.
1. A Livid Lady's Guide to Getting Even (4 episodes out)
The anime is a breath of fresh air, as it's a complete subversion to the usually weak Shoujo heroine. The main character is actually resourceful, doesn't mind spilling blood, and very clever when it comes to being a merchant. Watching her flourish in a new environment with the satisfaction of her revenge looming in the horizon is interesting to watch and doesn't get boring.
2. Heroine? Saint? No, I'm An All Works Maid (And Proud Of It!) (6 episodes out)
This one is similar to the anime I mentioned before in the sense that it subverts expectations. We have an overpowered character, who by all means could choose to live a life of luxury, but instead chooses to live as a maid, as it was her passion since she was a child. It's refreshing, sweet, and funny at times.
3. My Stepmother And Stepsisters Aren't Wicked (4 episodes out)
It's a rewriting of the Cinderella story in a sense. The main character's mother dies, and she's forced to go live with her stepmother and stepsisters, who appear to be intimidating and evil at first, but are in fact genuinely kind people who absolutely adore her. Especially love the dynamic between the stepmother and the main character, where she assures her that she is not her mother's replacement, but rather a parent figure who cares for her deeply. Very fluffy, very sweet.
4. Please Excuse My Younger Brothers (4 episodes out)
An anime that's kind of walking a thin line between being fluffy, and being outright weird. It entirely depends on how you view the interactions between the characters, and I, for now, choose to view it as a cute, and a bit awkward sibling dynamic. The artsyle is very colorful, and the atmosphere is lighthearted.
5. The Duke's Son Claims He Won't Love Me Yet Showers Me with Adoration (4 episodes out)
The kind of anime you leave running in the background while you do something else. It's lighthearted, cute, and the main character is very wholesome anc easygoing. Not much to say about this one.
6. The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World (4 episodes out)
Another anime about a saint, except this one is mainly about cooking. The main character is especially fun to watch, very happy-go-lucky even in tough situations, and is genuinely helpful without expecting anything in return. She's currently my favorite character in the anime, which says a lot about her. The comedy is also pretty good.
7. The Oblivious Saint Can't Contain Her Power (5 episodes out)
Yup, another anime about a saint. This one, the main character isn't all that interesting. She's overpowered, and a bit frustrating. The anime itself relies too heavily on ragebait, but so far, it's been an alright watch. The one I'm most likely to drop in the coming days.
