If you had the opportunity to see all of your old friends, INCLUDING your ex, at an event, would you attend?
Recently I hung out with a friend from my old school and she invited me to a party with everyone else from my old school. The thing is, I only talk to her and I'm pretty sure I have a strained relationship with almost everyone at that party.
So if I were to go, it would be pretty awkward.
HOWEVER,
I'm curious to see how everyone is. Even if they don't like me. And I also want free food.
Both of the hosts have enthusiastically invited me, so it's not like I'm completely unwanted. Also, I've recently found out that my ex has started dating someone else..... so wompwomp :P

I think it wouldn't hurt to go. I know you mentioned that the people who invited you wanted you to be there so you can see them at least. And just cause you go doesn't mean you have to actually interact with anyone, you can just be cordial :/
If you do go, I hope it goes well and if you don't go, I hope you have other opportunities to see those that are chill

If you feel way more confident than you felt last time (or if you've been a chill person) you should go just for funzies! Its just once so even if it lowkey goes bad, who cares!
