Balancing Gaming and Motherhood: Life as a Mom Gamer 🎮💕

Being a mom is one of the greatest adventures in life. Between taking care of the family, keeping up with everyday responsibilities, and making sure everyone has what they need, life can get pretty busy. But one thing I’ve learned along the way is that it’s important to make time for the things that bring you joy too.

For me, that’s gaming. 🎮

I’m a mom of three amazing kids—an 18-year-old daughter, a 15-year-old son, and our 11-month-old little one. Each stage of motherhood has brought its own challenges, surprises, and unforgettable moments. While my days are filled with family, schedules, and responsibilities, gaming has become my favorite way to relax, recharge, and enjoy some time for myself.

Finding Time to Game as a Mom

People often ask, “How do you find time to play games when you’re a mom?”

The answer is: sometimes it takes planning!

Mom life can be unpredictable. Some days I might get a little gaming time after everyone is settled for the night. Other days, I may only get a few minutes to jump into a game. But even a small amount of time doing something I enjoy can make a big difference.

Gaming isn’t about ignoring responsibilities—it’s about creating balance.

Just like anyone else, moms need hobbies, friendships, and things that make them happy.

Gaming Has Changed Through Every Stage of Motherhood

When my older kids were little, life looked completely different. Now I have a teenager, a young adult, and a baby, which means every day brings something new.

My older kids understand my love for gaming, and it has even become something we can share together. Gaming can be a great way to connect with your family, whether it’s playing together, talking about favorite games, or sharing funny moments.

And as my youngest grows, I’m excited to introduce her to the fun and creativity that games can bring—when the time is right.

My Favorite Way to Unwind

After a busy day of being a mom, gaming gives me a chance to step into another world for a little while.

Sometimes I’m exploring incredible stories in Final Fantasy XIV.

Sometimes I’m relaxing and decorating in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Sometimes I’m battling it out in Fortnite, exploring in Palworld, or jumping into a competitive match of League of Legends.

And that’s only a few of the games I enjoy!

Gaming allows me to be creative, challenge myself, laugh with friends, and enjoy a hobby that is completely my own.

Building a Gaming Community as a Mom

One of my favorite parts of gaming has been building a Discord community with my husband. What started as a place for gamers to hang out has grown into a group full of friendships, laughs, and amazing memories.

Being a mom has taught me the importance of having a supportive community, and that’s exactly what we wanted to create for other gamers.

Our community is a place where people can come together, talk about games, join voice chats, and enjoy time with people who share the same passion.

Whether someone is a parent, a full-time worker, a student, or just someone looking for friends to game with, everyone deserves a place where they feel welcome.

You Can Be a Mom and a Gamer

There’s a common idea that moms have to give up their hobbies once they have kids. I don’t believe that’s true.

Being a mom is a huge part of who I am, but it isn’t the only part of me.

I’m a wife.
I’m a mom.
I’m a gamer.
I’m a community builder.

And I love that all of those things can exist together.

Gaming gives me a chance to relax, connect with others, and enjoy something that makes me happy. It reminds me that taking care of yourself is important too.

To All the Mom Gamers Out There...

If you’re a parent who loves gaming, know that you’re not alone. There are so many moms and dads out there who enjoy picking up a controller, logging into a game, or joining their favorite online community after a busy day.

So whether you get five minutes or five hours to play, enjoy those moments.

Because being a parent is an amazing adventure—but sometimes, it’s fun to have a digital adventure waiting for you too. 💕

🎮 Are you a parent who games? What are your favorite games to play? I’d love to hear what you’re enjoying! Can't wait to meet other moms who game!! Anyone really looking for more friends to enjoy games with my husband and I have been in a funk lately! We also run a discord community.

Well, if you're interested then I could actually suggest you some games if you wanna play some games for a bit and actually finish these then do other things you wanna do or things you have to do afterwards....

This is where Arcade Games comes handy.... Unfortunately many people seemed to be quite irk about games being "too short" or "barebones" when in reality many of these games were actually fun to play and actually does have respect for your time.

Now Sega had lots of great Arcade Games that you can play especially those that were posted on their Home Video Game Consoles....

They had great Arcade Racing Games like "Daytona USA" which was released on Sega Saturn (which although not perfect but still a great game because it's still fun to play and the gameplay was actually really good.) then later on in Sony PlayStation 3 which was Arcade Perfect.

If you play the whole three courses it goes for under 20 Minutes.

"Sega Rally Championship" on the other hand the Arcade Championship Mode goes for under 15 Minutes as well....

"Manx TT SuperBike" on the other hand, is quite a bit short as it only has two tracks on the Arcade Mode, I played both two tracks on the Arcade Mode and I timed it at one point and actually if you played bof these tracks it goes for 12 Minutes.

Fighting Games on the other hand like "Virtua Fighter Remix", "Virtua Fighter 2", "Fighting Vipers" and "Last Bronx" are fairly short too and goes below 20 Minutes.

Now going outside Sega there are nice 2D Arcade Fighting Games like from CAPCOM like Street Fighter Games from "Street Fighter II: The World Warrior" all the way to "Street Fighter Zero" and "Street Fighter Zero 2" goes below 30 Minutes.

And they have some Marvel Licensed Games like "X-Men: Children Of The Atom" which goes also below 30 Minutes.

There are quite other games like "DecAthlete" which goes for under 40 Minutes and "Winter Heat" under 50 Minutes which are Arcade Sporting Games.

Now going outside Sega, we got games like "Layer Section" and "Darius Gaiden" which are 2D Arcade Shooting Games going for at least 35 Minutes.

These games are quite fun and also doesn't really take much time like many games that are not Arcade Games and I think you gotta try these out of you have time.
