i honestly dont care about neopronouns/xenogenders/xenopronouns/whatever the fuck they're called. if you explained that to a queer elder then they're gonna be like "are you cops" or something LMAOOO. my take is that there's bigger issues in the world than some person identifying as "catgender"

Okay so here's how I noticed people view it, and by the way, I'm trying my best not to come off as mean, okiez?:
I think people have an issue with it because they feel like xenoz take anything they like and decide that's them, and the way they say that is that they identify that as their gender. But gender is a social construct functioning to determine one's role in society. Say, you wanted to be a cat. Kewl, you wanna be a lil' kitty, but even cats have distinct gender, and their gender isn't cat, cats are most typically female or male. Cats don't go by uhhh for instance cat/catself pronouns, they go by the pronouns aligning with the gender they've been assigned at birth, or some people objectify them to "it". They roll around on their backs and purr regardless of gender. But species and gender are two different things which aren't dependent on eachother.
Another issue that people have that it's just a made-up pronoun in someone's bio most of the time. People who transition genders to male, female or agender go through a social transition of changing their (legal) name, body language, wardrobe, language, cosmetics and much more. Most people that go by moonself, they don't just stand somewhere 24/7, not do anything and just turn on a light when the sky goes dark, they don't cut off all speech because moons don't speak, they don't pull a cosplay of a moon and they don't chang their name to Phoebe (only moon I could think of). Because that's not gender, it's just an asteticisation of dialogues. It's okay to be into aesthetics you don't have to claim an identity of being something you kinda like, when all you probably want to do is to have conversations in a discord roleplay server more pleasing to look at because they still didn't add colourred texting.
Thirdly, most xenoz don't feel gender dysphoria because they don't feel connected to the literal idea of an object or an animal being your literal GENDER. They just feel a certain connection to it. But most of the time, they would not tear apart their skin, stop eating, put on layers of makeup, face opression, accept death, get surgery, become incredibly depressed, consume dangerous substances, see psychologists, stop socialising, reconstruct a wardrobe, write songs, hurt themselves, cry, have meltdowns, take a knife to their hands so that they can be seen or see themselves as an object. But other people under the transgender umbrella would.
Personally? Fine whatever, explore whatever you refer to as gender as much as you want but what you're feeling is most likely not gender. If it is, sure I would be fine living in a world where anyone can become an object but I don't think there's enough people that would go the extra mile towards even being a Walmart bag, even outside gender. I'm not saying xenos don't deserve rights, they do, but I don't think that in this current situation for transgender people xenos should be put in the front of transgender activism.
I do see what you mean kind of, but I do have a few issues
First, with the catgender example, people who identify as catgender arent really identifying as a cat itself, I think that would be otherkin/therian, and I dont think the sex of the cat matters in this, its just with the cat itself yk? people who are catgender feel a extremely strong connection to cats or other felines, or just want to incorporate it into their gender, this might not make sense or it might just sound like a aesthetic to you but xenogenders were made with neurodivergent people in mind, they don't really fit traditional gender norms/standards.
It's not made up pronouns, well it is in a way duh, but its not there for no reason, if it makes people feel comfortable with their identity I think its fine.
Its not just a aesthetic, as I explained before, they dont go by normal gender norms on purpose, plus I have seen people who identify as something like "doggender" wear dog ears/dog tails for euphoria
People who use xenogenders do experience dysphoria, although its different, its a second type of dysphoria that doesnt fit traditional binary descriptions. also dysphoria overall is complex, some people might feel low dysphoria, or high, or only sometimes, or they might have none and feel euphoria instead, this goes for anyone under the trans umbrella.
Xenogenders are kind of like metaphors for how someone feels, instead of using traditional gender standards.
