In the scorching hot morning
I woke in a camper in my grandparents' yard
Dizzy, spinning, throat dry
Placed between a hoarder's mess
of cars, tents, and even more campers.
Mutts barked down the road
Bulldogs buzzed against the window
A spider weaved its web above my head
Haloed on each side, drying puddles of yesterday:
Coolers, beer, whiskey, dinner, vodka.
I folded my blankets
Hid the evidence
And went inside for breakfast:
Beer, eggs, and turkey from yesterday.
