pretty instrumental music (´∀｀*)

we’ve been listening to lots of gorgeous instrumental tracks lately and there are lots of posts on here asking for music recommendations, so… here u go!!

*+:｡.｡ swatting at flies — ethan mcneal ｡.｡:+*

acoustic guitar and whistling with nature sounds in the background. somewhat melancholy, but mostly sweet. sounds like waking up a couple hours too early on a really humid early spring day. bittersweet mood.

*+:｡.｡ casarecce — shopan, rob araujo ｡.｡:+*

piano. sounds like being in times square while it’s raining, and/or watching a stray cat calmly walk through yards and driveways. pensive or awestruck mood. 

*+:｡.｡ marginalia #59 — masakatsu takagi ｡.｡:+*

piano. if you love any of the two recent legend of zelda games’ music you’ll love this one. sounds like ladybugs on leaves, ants crawling up and down their hill methodically, standing in a wide green field with no horizon, or doing math homework (the good, fun kind). jumpy, a little chaotic in a pleasing and catchy way. curious mood.

*+:｡.｡ reflets — laurie torres ｡.｡:+*

piano. sounds like trying to resolve an argument, conflicts that loop back in on themselves over and over, or riding the bus home and trying to hold yourself together emotionally. melancholy, somber, but with a tone of perseverance as well. 

*+:｡.｡ forecast — zela margossian quintet ｡.｡:+*

multiple instruments. high energy jazz. sounds like you’re trying to get something done as fast as possible and you’re already behind schedule, like studying for a test you’re pretty sure you’re about to totally fail, or like those classic scenes in anime where the character sprints out of the house with a piece of toast in their mouth (ace attorney phoenix, biking to work). rushed, focused mood.

*+:｡.｡ revenge — asoookha ｡.｡:+*

multiple instruments. almost the same vibe as the last one but sounds more like you’re a 90’s sci-fi anime character running around trying to fix damage done to your ship in the midst of battle.

*+:｡.｡ mosquitoh — jazzbois ｡.｡:+*

guess what this one sounds like.

multiple instruments (mainly synths). jazzy song that sounds like a horde of mosquitohs mischievously floating through your neighborhood. sounds wobbly, like someone’s shaking one of those metal sheets that make sounds like thunder.

*+:｡.｡ rumination — BAANDIT! ｡.｡:+*

piano with chatter and other sounds in the background. absolutely beautiful progression. sounds like walking through France in the evening and becoming captivated by a cute little cafe and all of its bustling workers and patrons, or like enjoying a summer night cozied up in a plastic chair in the yard, looking up at the stars, or like trying to draw a certain kind of flower from memory. hopeful, optimistic, determined mood.

neither of these are instrumental but they’re our favorite shoegaze songs right now, especially the first. had that on repeat almost my whole work shift now :P
