I was minding my business at the thrift shop when I saw a cute pair of leopard print pyjama pants
When I saw it I went full Gyaru styling mode and I was thinking „omg I could totally style this in a casual gal outfit ahhhhhh“ and I rushed to try it
The pants were size 0xl so it was not my size and I think that was a sign from the heavens already (lmao I’m an atheist btw)
Anyway my dumbahhh decided I’d get it anyway bc then I could cut up the fabric and diy smth cute right?????
I proceeded to buy it and I went home suspecting nothing until I was right about to go to bed ughhh
I innocently went to look at the tag that was at the back with some brand name half rubbed off…….
Lemme tell u how upset I wasss ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I HATE SHEIN SO MUCH IVE EVEN AVOIDED IT WHEN ITS TECHNICALLY MORALLY OK TO GET IT
NOW I HAVE A PAIR OF CUTE PANTS THAT MAKE ME FEEL SAD WHEN I THINK OF THEM
WHY DO SHEIN DESIGNS LOOK SO GOOD BUT HAVE TO BE SO ETHICALLY BADDDD????????

I think it isn’t bad to thrift shein because you aren’t the person buying it. Also ur gifting to charity so its kinda making up for buying from shein if u really think abt it 😻
I also got a leopard print by accident 😓 it’s a cute skirt tho!!

i'd say it's better than buying it firsthand from the website itself. you've just saved another piece of clothing from a landfill, and thus saved (a little bit) of our oceans from textile waste!! :))
i don't think there's a problem with thrifting fast fashion, especially if you know that you will be wearing it for a long time. if it bothers you a little too much for your liking then i'd suggest cutting the tag off.

if u thrifted it, it's fine, it's better than it going into another landfill so i don't see an issue...i bought a pair of leather pants from the thrift even though they were shein, so
