So lately I've notice that most of my music taste stems from my mom (nothing against her) which personally for me it's nothing wrong it's just since music is a big part of my family's life most music taste gets passed down and especially since half if not all the music, I listen to is BECAUSE of my mom and i was just wondering if has happened to anyone else

older music is sooooo much better than the music we have now. its more unique, diverse and overall just better written. probably because back then, artists weren't worried about what other people thought, because terms like "cringe" didn't exist. music is a way of expressing yourself before its a way of making money, and artists these days fail to see that. people who diss on older music lack any taste in music tbh.
this is also why artists like the beatles, queen, eminem and nirvana will live on forever. i highly doubt 60 years from now people will be obsessing over people like harry styles.

I am 100% certain that my music taste stems from my dad's music taste because we are both huge fans of alternative rock/ punk music as well as some old school rap as well so I get what you mean.
