Darkest Dungeon Inspired D&D Campaign Ramblings

Last year, I composed my own Dungeons & Dragons campaign heavily inspired by Darkest Dungeon called the Wuthering Estate (which I've abandoned up until recently). Essentially, it functions the same as the game itself except that the Dungeons are structured more like towns and that one of the bosses for each Dungeon serves as its Lord; I basically put my own spin to the enemies of the game.

To break it down, here's an example of how one of the Dungeons functions:

Ruins

An ancient monastery guarded by a skeletal military. Its purpose is of worship towards the Ancestor (the douchebag grandpa) and of studying the dark arts. The Ruins is ruled by the Necromancer — one of the bosses of the canonical Ruins in Darkest Dungeon. The Prophet, on the other hand, is the sole prisoner of the monastery due to his ramblings of the terrors beyond one's comprehension.

Each dungeon has a different arc and overall "theme" that it tackles. For instance, Ruins represent obsession; the Weald represents community; the Warrens represents family; and the Cove represents vanity. However, I believe these are subject to change depending on my solo campaign that I'm trying out this summer. I'm trying to take things slow so that I wouldn't burn myself out like in my previous attempts, and, hopefully, I'll be able to run this campaign for my friends during the fall semester ^-^

So far, into the campaign, my party barely survived on their Ruins expedition thanks to being attacked by the guards. They're currently resting in an abandoned monastery barn, but three out of four party members have noticed that they're being watched while on their way to the barn. I'm a bit excited to continue this campaign, though I need to actually start planning the session instead of winging it hehe.

As a bonus, here's an image of my latest Darkest Dungeon dice set :D
