Ive been in the alternative scene for years now but Ive only really been getting into emo music and fashion more recently. I live in an area where literally nobody is emo or alternative or anything. So its really hard to make friends with alt people and get music inspo or fashion advice. Ive always loved every genre of music , specifically indie rock (radiohead i love themm) but its hard to find good bands especially when nobody i know has a similar music taste. i know ill probably be called a poser for this but i just would really appreciate if anybody could let me know any emo bands or songs they think would be good for a beginner. everyone has to start somewheree :3 💗

mcr's a great introduction to emo/emo-adjacent genres imo. i'd recommend starting with three cheers for sweet revenge, although i am kinda biased because that's my favorite album of theirs lol. for more obscure 2000s emo, i like park (this one's a bit annoying to google cuz the name is so generic. all their socials are @listentopark), counterfit, name taken, and midtown :)
