As someone who is 18 and is about to start college pretty soon (next monday) I would like to say to anyone who is younger than me that relationships shouldn't be your main focus at all. They take a lot of effort to balance with everything else going on with your life. You always sacrifice *something* every single time you're in one whether that be time, your money, or patience. Please just let someone come to you. If you feel extremely lonely and need some sort of companionship just focus on platonic friendships. Platonic friendships are just as important (dare I even say more important) then romantic ones. Don't let your love or likeness for someone blind you from your self-respect. It's never worth it.

I do agree with your advice here.
It's best to be single especially at that age.
You have a good amount of freedom and time for your self and on your loved ones.
Your young years are definitely fun spent when single.
While single at that age you could learn a lot of things here and there and you have to learn a lot of things before getting into a relationship.
