Opinion on Religion

I have had many mutuals and friends who hate religion, think it's hurtful and no good can come of it. Some have valid reasoning(religious trauma) but some just think that because they've never been in a religion, so they have an outside perspective.

I believe that religion, belief in a god can be a beautiful thing BUT what I find harmful are large groups that follow ONE person for this religion (im trying to make it general but think of churches following some guy and that guy is the preist)

if you believe in a god, FIND IT YOURSELF!!!
do the research, study on your own time, understand holy texts in YOUR OWN INTERPRETATION

immediately going to (usually a) MAN to interpret what your god wants just doesn't sound right to me. If you want to have a true connection with your god then interpret that gods texts whatever way it feels right to you, i promise if that god is out there it will find you. it will NOT come in the form of some man on a podium telling you whats "PROBABLY" right and wrong.

Spend the time with yourself, your spirit and the god you want to put faith in.

As an agnostic (kinda leaning into the belief of reincarnation) with strict ethiopian christian parents, I think that people should at least accept any kind of religion. There are bad apples anywhere but straight up hating doesnt solve the problem.

True !

I mean, if someone didn't translate the original texts, such as the bible that is originally in Greek and Hebrew, you wouldn't even start your investigation. Also, at least for Christians, is one of the gifts by the holy spirit, that lets you interpret the texts. Obsviously is important, as you say, to make your own opinion, and experience by yourself the faith.

I agree with you on the part that is you need to find and understand your relationship with god that all should be your own hard work not by someone else but what I don’t agree is going for someone else to interprets gods words for you , i do agree that we shouldn’t do that to every single time but asking every now and then is actually helpful , because sometimes there’re some stuff we don’t understand very well and someone else does so why not ask ?

I agree community is one of the joys people find in religion, and can be wonderful!! i js dislike the following of one specific leader or interpreter, in my opinion there's a difference between community sharing and following/blindly believing one person/small group of people (if that makes sense)

so youre an anti-monotheist. i disagree. i think a religion following any god is, in the long run, harmful to society and people. yes it can give you hope and "understanding" but it will never give you closure, for most it even creates an anxiety about following the religion's rules.

I personallyyy think any belief is fine as long as it keeps you happy and doesn't harm anyone.( HEAVY ON NOT HARMING ANYONE ToT ik how rare that is nowadays)

Basically if i dont understand it, then its not for me and thats okay. I personally don't belief in a god I belief humans are here just to enjoy the ride, i have other things to give me purpose than a 'unimaginable mysterious being' lol

im an antitheist and an athiest, i technically am a satanist but we dont actually worship satan. i dont understand why believing in something that is unprovable would or should keep you happy. it carries no wisdom in it at all. at least with scientific theories there is loads of evidence to support those (gravity, space, round earth, evolution, etc.). there is no visible (to everyone) evidence that supports gods. why would a thing that truly exists only be able to be felt by some people? why should an unprovable force be able to dictate all of my morals and take me to an forsaken hell where i get punished (abrahamic religions excluding judaism) if i dont follow them? why would there be anything at the end of all biological function? there isnt! theres no afterlife, and if there was nothing you do in this life would dictate your afterlife.
