My music taste is very scattered in general, but a band I absolutely adore is Fightstar.
They are an English rock band that formed in late 2003. Charlie Simpson, main vocalist of Fightstar was in Busted (my fav band of all time!!) while in Fightstar, But he ended up leaving to pursue his career in Fightstar in Jan 2005.
The band consists of the lead vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist Charlie Simpson, bassist Dan Haigh, drummer Omar Abidi and guitarist and co-vocalist Alex Westaway.
Their first EP 'They liked you better when you were dead' is just amazing, and has their early versions of 'mono and 'lost like tears in rain' (which appear in their first album Grand unification)
Mono is absolutely beautiful, it starts with a peaceful tone and instrumental, with some really hard hitting lyrics. It just progressively gets more heavy with emotion as the song plays through. I think it could be one of the best hard hitting love songs of all time.
I would suggest their first album 'Grand Unification' as the first stuff of theirs to listen to, its absolutely brilliant :) my personal favourite tracks are 'Sleep well tonight' , 'Mono' and 'Waste a moment'
A band I could compare them to is Deftones in some ways, In fact Charlie Simpson was very inspired by them for Fightstar's early material and they've always been his favourite band.
Definitely worth checking them out if you are looking for recommendations!!
