Taking a research based class and can't for the life of me even understand basic probability and graphs. The more someone explains it to me, the more confused i get. The worst part is, i go to a research university as a humanities major who applied test-optional, and everyone in my class just understands how statistics works. i'm going to work really hard because I'm considering going into psychological research, but if I can't grasp even the basics of research methods and data analysis I don't think that's an option for me. I feel so embarassed in class when I don't understand and keep having to ask questions and it bogs the whole class down

Other people won't ask questions because they don't want to appear dumb or as if they don't get it either. You are the brave sacrificial anode for the class lol
When I was first learning algebra it was very hard, now it's easy. It's the same with all hard things in life. Keep at it, STEM stuff is a real struggle to comprehend and it's true that not everyone can do it. But many simply never try to put the immense effort required in.
