Shark Tank Pitch

Guyssss ,
My school has organised a business program just like Shark Tank America / India where participants will shared their innovative ideas and judges will invest !!!!!! 😍

And I have taken participation in it ✨👔

I have few ideas in my mind like Solar Irrigation Pump for Farmers . That's not finalised . I am researching more topics. I have to do many more things like prepare Presentation PPT , pitch speech , etc.

And I want Suggestions from you guys as well . If you can think of any product , please Comment . 💯 I will consider and research about your suggestion.

( I am helllaaa excited 🥰💗 )

Having a solar panel only on a pump makes it so that the energy the panel would otherwise produce is going to waste whenever the farmer isn't actively watering or filling livestock water reservoirs around the farm. Also watering is most efficiently done overhead in the morning when the temps are cool and humidity is already high so evaporative losses are low. But the pumps would only really optimally START working after about 10am when the humidity already drops and the temp is already coming up.

If the pump feeds a ground system the losses won't be as bad, but if it's anything like those overhead radial sprayers then it will lead to more losses of water to evaporation. (Water is a much more potent green house gas than carbon dioxide, not that that actually matters anyways despite what THEY will tell you...)

Fun fact, many farmers don't often need or use pumps, most fields are gravity watered and they wait their turn from the water master to block up the culvert next to their farm and then flood their fields. This requires zero electricity.

Umm - Yeah , you are right !! I agree . Well , I have a different , but similar , idea rn in my mind . That's smart retrofit kit which will be installed on existing solar pump . It consists of soil moisturiser sensor, Weather detector and ai display connected to them which will gather the info and interpret like how much is the current moisturiser level , weather and it's forecast , should farmer really irrigate the field for now or not.  That will save water as shortage and excess of water will be cut off .

How is this one ?

It's better, what your best niche would be is filling a higher elevation retention pond from a lower one, this way you will get the maximum duty cycle/effectiveness out of the pump on average with no added complexity or electrical storage/grid tied stuff neede.

If you want to broaden the market, it needs to have a charge controller, and battery included. (It's a good idea to skip optimizers and inverters in this case and avoid any AC power conversions so make sure your pump motor is DC powered.)

As for moisture sensors, they are called hygrometers, unfortunately every single one I have ever bought sucks and is very inaccurate. (I have bought MANY types.)

Also you would need a custom hygrometer that would go deep depending on the crops. Some crops are very deep rooted like asparagus, or tomatoes, and a few others. So if you focus too much on moisture near the surface it will actually harm the plant because 1. overwatering/watering more often will lead to more evaporative losses. 2. More likely to lead to root rot. 3. Consistent watering prevents some plants from growing more of their roots which makes the plants more susceptible to storm damage and also hurts their yields because they can't absorb as much nitrogen/other nutrients.

So make sure you include that knowledge into the design considerations for the watering system.
