Am i alt like of any kind

lowkey i feel like you can call urself alt but people would get mad at you like idk why cuz they just like don't have a life but i think you can call urself alt

I don't think it's really a black or white thing, but more of a grey area. I feel like if you really have a strong feeling of connection to a certain subculture and you're actively engaging in the specific trends according to that subculture, whether that's music, fashion, and learning about the background or the "history", as you could call it, then you could consider yourself as an alternative person. But you can also not be alternative and still dabble in different trends, or experiment with different alternative styles. Alt is an umbrella term for all the different subcultures, but you could kind of identify with multiple, (As an emo person could also feel that they identify with scene culture). But also, you could just generally be "alt", and not a part of a certain subculture. Most subcultures also have shared ideologies -- as an example, the emo scene is very supportive of mental health and LGBTQ+ rights. So, if you feel that your values and interests align with a certain subculture or just being alt in general, (Don't feel obligated force yourself into a certain box) then you are probably alternative. But in my opinion, it all depends on your own thoughts and perspective. Again, if your making an effort to engage in the "alternative culture", then I think you most likely are. I consider myself as an emo person because I'm really invested in the fashion, beauty trends, music, and most of the shared beliefs. Thats my personal experience, but those are my thoughts on the matter. ^_^
