I FINALLY WATCHED THIS FUCKY ASS, BUMMY ASS, LAME ASS MOVIE.
i'm joking, i'm joking. guys...guys...put the gun down.
seriously though, i was expecting a lot more from this movie. not exactly sure what, but more of it. i guess what i'm trying to say is that it felt unfinished? like there's a chunk missing. don't get me wrong, the movie was glorious, aesthetically speaking. so was the acting and the cinematography and whatnot. the story just felt like they were skipping around some crucial information to make sense of the movie, which might be a lot to ask for from a movie that is all about distortion and anomalies that aren't supposed to make sense. BUT YOU DO UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN, RIGHT?
they could've done more with the weird organization studying the backrooms. or maybe explained why clark's distorted self is the main monster???? are there individual rooms for certain people? or are they all connected? does clark's story matter? or is he just another cog in the machine? maybe i'm not well-versed in the backrooms lore, or maybe i'm stupid and didn't catch ANYTHING. i just feel like most of it was pretty vague.
OVERALL! it's alright. it's cool....but isn't as good as ppl were making it seem.....

i wonder what they'll do for the second movie. if it's a separate story for someone else...they should've made it a show or something, OR this is gonna be a big franchise if they make the next movie like that.

i'm hearing it's a movie, although i wish it's a show. tbh i think kane is trying to make like an expanded universe out of backrooms. thinking about future spin-offs and reboots make me giggle, this could be our generation's pirates of the carribean

I understand where you're coming from when it comes to the story. I do believe the lore/story could've gotten a little deeper especially when it comes down to the organization that's been handling the backrooms for what seems to be a very long time. Sure, the liminality is there, but the atmosphere was slightly taken away in some moments, because it felt like the plot was focusing a lot more on clark and mary, so it kinda detracts from that, i get the feeling the filmmakers (including kane) wanted the the movie to have it's own story and characters while still trying to keep it connected to the youtube series as possible so that general audiences could have a better grasp of what the backrooms are like. HOWEVER, i do believe they could've explained alot more on how the backrooms work, but that's probably because it was intentional, almost like they wanted the moviegoers/viewers to figure it out for themselves. Idk lol, i could be wrong, i just really love that damn.
Btw, HOLY YAP, I'M SO SORRY I JUST REALLY LOVE THAT MOVIE.
i understand them wanting the viewers to figure it out themselves. like i said, the movie is about distortion, so it makes sense that the movie doesn't make sense, but it gives us a little SOMETHINGGGGGGG!!!!

It's not a genre for everyone. I remember when Skinamarink came out people had a lot of the same complaints about not understanding the plot and struggling with different kinds of storytelling. It's cool that a project like Backrooms got super big but I do feel like it misleads people who aren't die hard horror/mystery fans who think it'll be accessible to them.

finally someone has the same opinion as me!! and i also think that this movie wasnt even like abt the backrooms??? like the story could take place literally anywhere else and itd still be the same
yea, it was definitely more centered around clark and mary rather than the backrooms as a whole. i dont know if theyre actual characters in the in the backrooms universe??? or if they were just created for the movie specifically, but it was heavily focused on them rather than the backrooms as a whole.
