Throughout high school and into my first month of college, all of my friends have been in relationships. ![]()
Yeah, I've dated too... but it's been years, and it's never gone well. (That's a story for another post, if ever at all)
Okay, yeah, I'm jealous. But is dating even really for me?
In theory, it sounds great: you're committed to someone who, from my viewpoint, should be one of your greatest, if not your best friend. I love my bff. But not like that.
Social media makes dating seem so much more complicated. What IS a situationship?
Listen. I'm saying this as if I don't have a tendency toward self-isolation. Who am I kidding? Someone shows me even remotely a little bit of affection, platonic or otherwise, and I send myself into a tizzy. #embarrassing ![]()
I freak myself out over a lot. I try to keep it on the down low. I am not nonchalant. I am about as chalant as they come. I'm scared. People are gorgeous, and I'm not even cool????
I'm literally just gay and weird. ![]()

Loll it’s easy to get caught up in romanticizing relationships. IMO the dating pool is terrible. I only have a girlfriend right now because I met them in an online game! (We’re long distance) for queer people it’s more difficult, not that it’s easy for the heteros or anything.
What I’m trying to get at is that it’s better to be single than to get into a situationship or relationship with someone you don’t match well with just to be with someone.
I’ve had one too many of my queer friends end up in relationships with nasty mfs just to avoid being alone & that is sad.
One day 🙏🫶
