Do you feel that everything is getting worse where you live? Flock Cameras going up on every street, data centers popping up, electricity prices soaring, roads not being fixed, school system not actually focused on teaching people things that matter, city services sucking more and more, stupid laws?
I have identified part of the cause of all of those things.
Most people spend so much time now on the internet that their connections with their neighbors and community has been replaced by people hundreds of thousands of miles away, sometimes in entirely different countries. Unfortunately the energy and time we have to socialize hasn't gone up at the same time.
So instead of rallying together as a local community to say YES or NO we don't want this.
Which would be putting real pressure on PEOPLE who actually make the decisions.
We are yelling into somewhat of a void instead and the energy is dispered. So those key decision makers don't actually FEEL the will and desires of the people they are supposed to represent anymore.
People used to make fun of "Karen's"... But Karen's CARED. Karen's were the people who would pay attention and go explain their dismay to companies, and local governments to make things better sometimes. Yeah sometimes DUMB Karen's focus on the wrong things like if your frog statue on your front porch is aligned with the HOA bylaws. But when their energy is in the right direction a karen is a powerful force!
Go be a karen, go to your local community meetings hear out what the other side has to say with an honest ear FIRST. Have respectful discussions about the pros and cons, engage with them! Get people to care again!

There's this community organizing principal called power mapping. Basically every rich person has non-profits they associate with, musicians and artists they admire, and companies they sit on the board of. You can use that info to apply targeted pressure on folks who do bad stuff in your community. 😇

Well tellmesecrets, I've uncovered one of the main reasons power bills are going up! CCA's... Basically unelected people forcing services from SPECIFIC companies on us, such that it destroys all other competition.
Similar to some person setting up an organization, then being paid 10 million dollars by wonderbread to send out a "you will buy 7 loafs of wonderbread a week, no other bread can be purchased if you don't jump through 3 different complicated hoops to opt-out by the time we say so. But we swear it's cheaper than your current bread! (at least for the first month) IT's also 100% green and renewable! Efficiently transmitted over lines thousands of miles away from you! Then we can charge you anything we want including 100,000$ per loaf after you have already bought it starting a couple months from now. :)
Ya know what I've been meaning to make a bigger post about that. I will throw that on the docket to do within the next few days.
