whenever I hear homophobic/transphobic ppl talking about the lgbtq community I mainly hear them say “oh there’s too many labels” or smth like that.
but whenever there’s a person who may not have labels on their gender or sexuality, these same homo/transphobes will be like very pushy about knowing what this person identifies as.
I find it crazy hypocritical cuz like you get mad at labels but at the same time when there’s an unlabeled person you want them to have a label so bad

im gay and there are too many labels tbh, but i don't hate anybody for using them. a lot of it just sounds like being straight, gay, bi, trans with extra steps. and didn't a lot of them come from tumblr many years ago as a joke, lol. and also, a preference for someone isn't a sexuality, it's called a preference. shrug

It's all about us having the socially acceptable labels they expect us to have, not to have the freedom to choose ours or to reject them all. People like this won't see the irony till their bubble is popped or till they don't fit their own labels.
