A VCR!
Now I can actually enjoy my growing collection of VHS tapes. I've been searching for one for some time now, but they're surprisingly scarce. Thrift stores around here don't usually have them and online they're priced pretty high for working/refurbished ones. So I've just been keeping an eye out.
Last weekend I found one during my usual Saturday thrifting, but when I plugged it in to test at the counter it unfortunately didn't work. I was pretty bummed that my search had to continue, but yesterday another one popped up. Tested and works great! This one is cleaner and newer than the broken one last week, and it's a DVD player too.
I already had a composite AV to HDMI adapter that I use for my N64, so I had everything needed to set up and start watching. Of course I started with my favorite Disney movie, the Lion King.
I was really hoping to find one in time for my birthday later this month so I could have some friends over to eat childhood snacks and watch old movies the proper way. So this came just in time.
Here's Misty doing the very necessary inspection.

I have a vcr dvd combo to! I don't usually use the vhs side as much only to watch twister but I love mine it's from 2007
I haven't tried the DVD part yet but I love it so far. I've watched 2 movies and it worked flawlessly. My collection of physical media is small because I don't have much space in my apartment but I'm hoping to get a CD/cassette player combo next!

ikr I'm so happy with it! Misty is a bit wary of the noises it makes loading and ejecting but we're working through it lol
