My tastes in most things are eclectic and that extends to my spirituality. I find comfort in the things dome angels and saints represent, natural water sources, mystic talismans or amulets, moon phases, crystals & rocks I find in places I love, tarot, oracle decks… etc. I’m not sure if being a witch is for me or not, but I’m looking into certain aspects of it. I know for a fact I don’t connect with Nordic or Celtic belief systems because they just feel so far removed from my culture. Same with Hellenism. I’m more drawn to symbols tied to Abrahamic religions due to my upbringing, but I don’t worship the abrahamic god. I’ve been mixing things up and it’s really helped me stay more disciplined in my life and to stick to my values. Hell, my interest in angelology has helped me bond with my mom more & I think that in itself has been something nice to share with her. :)
P.s. I’ve got conflicts with angelology bc I hate seeing angels represented as white men lmao. They’re supposed to be genderless and incomprehensible… that’s the kind of angelology I really lean into.

In Constantine, Tilda Swinton plays the angel Gabriel. Typically a mans name but her character is cast to show feminine features. Her acting shows Gabriel as a powerful and righteous thing. No muscles, no shouting. It's a good representation I think.
That sounds interesting, I'll look it up! Certain belief systems depict Gabriel as a feminine angel, relate them to the moon, or dub them "the archangel of all things feminine". In the catholic bibles i grew up with, the most important act tied to that archangel was announcing to Mary that she'd give birth to Jesus. Another archangel that gets depicted as a woman or femininely is Jophiel, guardian of the garden of Eden. I find the connections between gender and angels fascinating!
