Empty space

This mattress will no longer have the crease of my body, which has witnessed every moment that has ever happened to me. The people who have sat on this bed, the person I made love to, the endless breakdowns, and the countless times I’ve spent doing nothing. I don’t have the energy to get up anymore, as my mattress gives me the comfort to stay in one place for hours, or even days.

But someday, it will no longer feel the warmth of my body. It will return to its original shape, as if nothing ever happened.
