im rlly not a fan of how laura palmer's theme has kinda been reduced to nothing but those "my last seven minutes" meme compilations. especially as a fan of twin peaks, it just feels wrong.
for ppl who haven't heard of twin peaks, its about a seventeen year old girl named laura palmer who was murdered and you slowly find out that everyone in the town of twin peaks is affected or contributed to her demise. the prequel film dives deeper into this as we get to see her final days and her murder. ill try not to spoil much for those who want to check it out.
basically her theme appears at least once every episode, and its so beautifully impactful every single time. its almost like you can feel her presence at times, and it made me cry when i first watched the pilot. so to see it reduced to nothing but a background track for a meme compilation almost feels like its discrediting the art and story behind it. the same can be said for the song "sun bleached flies" by ethel cain.
it just rlly pmo every time i come across that sort of thing on my fyp, or when ppl boil laura down to just pinterest inspo. like no she wasn't a icon, she suffered for years on end. this isn't to discredit people who relate to her struggles or find comfort in her character, its to the people who don't take into account her story.

THIS, I also love her theme and I listen it to it, I also hate how it became a stupid meme.. They're also using in the same way Sayo-nara from Ddlc, they really are making women suffering just a joke
