Schlep - Silence Those Who Criticize [ROBLOX]

Disclaimer

This blog contains discussions of online harassment, grooming, predatory behavior, suicide, hate speech, racism, transphobia, homophobia, doxxing, and other sensitive topics. The views expressed in this post are my personal opinions and experiences regarding events that I witnessed or was directly involved in.

The purpose of this blog is not to encourage harassment, witch hunts, or attacks against any individual or group. It is simply a personal account of my experiences and criticisms regarding certain actions and behaviors that I believe are worth discussing. Please remain respectful when discussing the topics mentioned in this post, and do not use this blog as an excuse to harass, threaten, or target anyone.

Hey everyone,

I know it's been a while since I did a proper blog, lol, and I apologize for that. It's mostly because school and studying have been taking up most of my time, among other things. But I finally decided, "You know what? I think I'll write a blog since it's been a while."

Today's blog is based on something that happened to me a few days ago, actually. Specifically, on October 22, when I made a thread on Twitter where I gave my opinion on the "beloved" predator catcher, Schlep, and some of his, let's just say, questionable methods.

One thing I pointed out was the fact that he frequently collaborates with the Kiwifarms website. If you don't know, Kiwifarms is a site that has gained notoriety due to actions committed by some of its users online, including harassment campaigns, doxxing incidents, and targeting LGBTQ+ individuals. The site has also been associated with several high-profile cases where individuals who were subjected to prolonged harassment later died by suicide.

Because of that, I started questioning why Schlep would repeatedly collaborate with the site for many of his arrests. It makes me wonder why someone who promotes himself as "protecting the kids" would choose to work alongside a platform with that much controversy attached to it. I understand that users on the site may have access to information about dangerous individuals, but I feel like there are better and more trustworthy sources he could be using instead.

The next thing I pointed out is Schlep's close collaboration with Ruben Sim. Schlep openly refers to Ruben as one of his closest friends, and the two are often seen working together on videos involving exposing or confronting alleged predators.

You might ask, "Well, what's so wrong about Ruben?"

For starters, he has been accused by many people of being transphobic, homophobic, and racist. He has also been criticized for bullying and harassing minors online. One of the most infamous things associated with him was the use of the term "The Raped" when referring to transgender people. On top of that, he is also known to be a Kiwifarms user.

There are many other controversial things tied to him that I can't realistically list here, which leads me to ask: why would Schlep continue working so closely with him?

Honestly, I think the answer is simple. He doesn't care.

Now, I can already hear people saying, "But he's arresting bad people!"

And honestly? I agree. I'm 100% in favor of dangerous people being arrested and held accountable for their actions.

My criticism isn't about the arrests themselves. It's about the methods being used to achieve those arrests. I genuinely believe there are less controversial ways to accomplish the same thing, but Schlep seems convinced that his current methods are the best approach.

Besides questioning those methods, I also questioned whether he's doing all of this for fame and attention.

A few months ago, Schlep and Ruben were involved in what many considered a staged incident. Ruben made several tweets claiming he had assaulted a "random" girl who was wearing a Roblox-themed outfit by throwing a drink at her. Later, that same girl tagged Schlep, thanking him for "arresting" Ruben, and included a mugshot image of him in the post.

However, people later discovered that this supposedly random girl was actually friends with both Ruben and Schlep. Because of this, many believed the whole situation had been staged to generate attention and millions of views.

Another example happened a few weeks ago, although I honestly don't remember exactly when.

Someone made a thread explaining how their friend was being banned from numerous games because they had allegedly been identified as a condo game player. These accusations came from a database created by Ruben and Schlep that supposedly tracks bad actors and condo players on Roblox.

In the thread, the person argued that their friend had never played condo games and also revealed that they were a grooming victim. Despite this, Schlep simply replied with, "Condo user added to condo database = Ruben Sim is evil."

To me, that response made no sense.

If your stated goal is to create a safer environment for kids and support victims, then why dismiss someone claiming to be a grooming victim who says they're being falsely flagged by your database?

I included all of these criticisms in my Twitter thread.

After posting it, the thread absolutely exploded.

A lot, and I mean a LOT, of people saw it. One of those people was Schlep himself.

So what did he do?

Instead of responding to my points, addressing my criticisms, or explaining the reasoning behind his methods, he blocked me. He then replied by posting one of his latest arrests, which wasn't even related to the original discussion.

A few hours later, he made a YouTube community post claiming that I "hate him for arresting pedophiles." He attached a screenshot showing only the beginning of my thread while conveniently cropping out the rest. He left my username visible and didn't include any kind of statement discouraging harassment.

His audience saw the post, and for the next three days my notifications were flooded with some of the most horrid and dehumanizing comments I have ever seen.

It got so bad that I had to make my account private for a day or two just to get away from the constant notifications.

Some people even went through my following list and singled out suggestive or NSFW art accounts that I follow. Keep in mind that I'm 18 years old, and most of those accounts don't even post content involving minors. Yet people were acting as though simply following those accounts somehow made me a terrible person.

This leads into another issue.

People completely ignored the points I was making and instead branded me as a pedophile. At the same time, many were sending racist, hateful, and dehumanizing comments my way.

Things escalated so much that people started making false claims about me, including accusations that I frequently played condo games and other things that simply weren't true.

Eventually, I had no choice but to make my account public again so I could directly address and debunk those claims.

I also forgot to mention something.

When I first found out that Schlep had blocked me, his reaction honestly felt pretty childish.

At one point, I jokingly referred to him as "Chris Hansen's Lap Dog." I gave him that nickname because after his lawsuit against Roblox gained attention, he suddenly seemed to be appearing alongside Chris Hansen in a lot of content.

Does that necessarily prove he's doing this for clout? No.

But it did contribute to my suspicion that fame and recognition may play a role in what he's doing.

To be fair, I somewhat regret using that nickname. It wasn't exactly helping the discussion, even if I was frustrated at the time.

Anyway, back to the main point.

Even after I debunked many of the claims being made about me, the harassment didn't stop. Some people went as far as stalking my Twitter activity and monitoring everything I posted.

As of writing this, they're still going.

The difference now is that instead of ignoring them, I've started blocking them. Lol.

After doing some research, I realized I wasn't the only person who had experienced this treatment. There have been other people who questioned Schlep's actions or motives and were met with similar hostility from his fanbase.

Whether intentional or not, it often feels like criticism of him results in his audience doing the dirty work on his behalf.

But yeah, that's pretty much it.

I mainly wrote this blog to vent about everything that's happened over the last few days and get it all off my chest.

Oh, and for any Schlep fans reading this:

Please understand that disliking Schlep's methods does NOT make me a pedophile.

In fact, after everything that's happened, this whole situation has left me with a pretty sour view of online predator catchers in general, especially when they use their audience to attack people who disagree with them.

And please, don't use this blog as ammunition against me.

Thank you.

TL;DR

I made a Twitter thread criticizing Schlep's methods rather than the arrests themselves.

My main criticisms were his collaborations with Kiwifarms and Ruben Sim, both of which I consider controversial.

I questioned whether some of Schlep's actions are motivated by publicity and attention rather than solely child safety.

I also pointed out situations where I felt he ignored legitimate concerns from people affected by his and Ruben's database.

Instead of addressing my criticisms, Schlep blocked me and later shared a cropped screenshot of my thread with his audience.

Afterward, I received days of harassment, false accusations, racist comments, and personal attacks from some of his supporters.

The harassment became severe enough that I temporarily made my account private.

Even after I addressed false claims about me, the harassment continued.

From my perspective, this experience left me disappointed with how some online predator-catching communities respond to criticism.

Criticizing someone's methods does not mean supporting predators, nor does it make someone a predator themselves.

The short version: I support holding predators accountable, but I disagree with some of Schlep's methods and associations. After voicing those criticisms, I became the target of significant harassment, and this blog is me sharing my experience and frustrations with the situation.

Note: If you disagree with me, that's completely fine. All I ask is that any discussion about this blog remains respectful and focuses on the points being made rather than personal attacks.

A Message to Schlep

And finally, if by some miracle Schlep is actually reading this blog, I want to make one thing clear:

This was never about defending predators or being against people getting arrested. I've said it multiple times throughout this post, and I'll say it again here: dangerous people deserve to be held accountable for their actions.

My issue has always been with the methods, the people you choose to associate with, and the way criticism is handled.

You don't have to agree with everything I've said here, but I genuinely think you should take some time to consider at least some of the criticisms people have raised. Not every person who questions your decisions is an enemy, a predator, or someone acting in bad faith. Sometimes people are simply concerned about certain actions, associations, or behavior and want answers.

I also think you need to be more careful with how you respond to criticism publicly. Whether intentional or not, when you single someone out in front of a large audience, there's a good chance that person is going to receive harassment afterward. Even if you don't directly tell people to attack someone, many fans will take it upon themselves to do so anyway.

If your goal is truly to protect people, then that should include discouraging harassment and personal attacks against those who disagree with you. Criticism shouldn't automatically turn into a dogpile.

At the end of the day, I don't hate you. I don't know you personally, and I'm not writing this because I want to start some endless drama cycle. I wrote this because I disagreed with certain things, had my own negative experience afterward, and felt like sharing my perspective.

So please, do better in the future. Listen to criticism when it's made in good faith, think about some of the points people raise, and make it clear to your audience that harassing people who disagree with you is not acceptable.

That's all I have to say.
