like seriously, what happened to email for the fun of email??
and you can't even put your email in the open world anymore without security concerns and spam!
I wish someone made an email service that's designed for old email clients like Outlook Express and the likes that's purely social, altho it'd probably have to be locked down so that only those on the same service can email eachother :<

It's probably because the current accepted implementation of email (not the concept itself) blows absolute ass on almost every front other than availability? Email as it stands today manages to be a nightmare for security, privacy, UX, and accessibility all at once on top of the network being a pain in the ass to operate in.

but highkey i wish email's were more fun.
reallll I hear stories of how ppl would log ino AOL and hear "you've got mail" and it'd be your best friend or pen pall or smth, sounds so fun
