"I made this webring as an omage to the indie web and online communities: since my first encounter I've fallen in love with it and I want to give something back in return! Specifically something for the users of retro social networks inspired by myspace!

But first of all: what is a webring?

Wikipedia says "A webring (or web ring) is a collection of websites linked together in a circular structure, usually organized around a specific theme, and often educational or social", in this case the theme is ofc being active users on any retro social network and also taking care of your own web page!

Why was this webring created?

It was made to help people with websites to meet others with their same interests, and be able to form a peaceful community that goes beyond our profiles and blogs!

I also wish I could enjoy being on retro social networks without triggers and from certain profiles not being optimized for ppl with epilepsy/photosensitivity: anyone is be free to talk about whatever they want and style their profile however they want, but I made this webring especially for the people like me who feel troubled by these things!

+ I wish to get to know people more slowly, and webrings do it perfectly: get to know someone with their website, exchange emails about your passions and share the love for making a place for yourselves on the net! < 3

p.s. If you see someone breaking the rules of the website report them!

How can I join? Simple:

1. Have an active profile on any retro social network
2. Have a website you made!
3. Have something that displays the age required to interact with your website
4. If you post NSFW have something that warns others about that!

You must not:

1. Display any hateful/harmful content on your profile and/or on your website
2. Be banned from the social networks you submit fro any reason
3. Be breaking any rules on those social networks
4. Be consistently posting or engaging with triggering/annoying blogs and rants!
5. Be consistently blogging about yourself (you post mainly info dumps and don't engage in anything other than that!)

If you satisfy all these requirments then send an emal to [email protected] with all of these things:

• the name of your website
• the url of the page where you'll display the widget
• a brief description of what your website is about (not required, but highly appreciated < 3)
• the button of your website (if you have one)
• the url of your profile/s
• the age required to see your website!
• if it's ok for someone with epilepsy to view your website
• if it's ok for someone with epilepsy to view your profile/s
• your language

Then put this widget down here on your page between the body tags and put the page button somewhere on your profiles!"
