There is something about lo-fi music that just hits different when you are up at 2am working on a project. I have been curating this playlist for months and I think it is finally perfect.
1. Nujabes - Feather
The GOAT. If you have never heard Nujabes, stop reading and go listen right now. Samurai Champloo introduced me to this legend and I have never looked back.
2. J Dilla - Waves
Donuts is one of the most beautiful albums ever made. Waves is the track I keep coming back to when I need to zone out and focus.
3. Tomppabeats - Monday Loop
This one is a classic in the lo-fi community. Simple, warm, and it loops perfectly. I have probably listened to this 500 times.
4. Idealism - Contrails
The way this track builds is so satisfying. It starts quiet and just slowly wraps around you like a blanket.
5. Kupla - Owls of the Night
More on the ambient side but the texture in this track is incredible. Perfect for when you want background music that does not demand attention.
6. SwuM - Caffeine
The vinyl crackle on this one is chef kiss. It sounds like a rainy Sunday morning in audio form.
7. Jinsang - Solitude
Melancholy but not sad. That is the best way I can describe Jinsang. This track makes you feel things.
8. Keshi - 2 Soon
Okay this one is more bedroom pop than lo-fi but the vibe is right. Sometimes you need vocals to break up the instrumentals.
9. Bsd.u - Tired
Another vinyl-heavy track that sounds like it was recorded in a cozy attic somewhere. The bass on this is surprisingly deep.
10. DJ Okawari - Flower Dance
The piano in this track is stunning. It is technically more jazz than lo-fi but it belongs on every late night playlist.
What are your favorite tracks for late night sessions? Drop them in the comments, I am always looking for new stuff to add to the rotation!
