My experience as a TTI survivor. Part one. Prelude.

This is the first in a series of blogs I am going to write describing my experience as a victim of the TTI (Troubled Teen Industry). In this first blog in the series I intend to describe the events leading up to my being sent to a TTI wilderness program.

I had never had what could be considered a normal childhood. When I was 13 (almost 14) my mom was threatening to divorce my dad because of his domestic violence towards her. He also treated both of us like his personal servants and not doing anything to his satisfaction could result in severe reprisals. ( When I was 8 he once felt I was too slow completing a long list of chores he gave me. As a punishment he made me watch while he shot my dog. He then made me bury it). 

Like any normal teenage boy I had a girlfriend. When my dad found out he called me “a perverted little piece of shit” and forced me to finish with her. He told me and my mom that he was going to punish both of us in one go. He said that I was going somewhere where I would suffer for months and my mom would have the torment of knowing I was suffering.

I turned 14 on New Year’s Day 2025. Afew weeks later I overheard my parents talking. I heard my mom say “You can’t send him somewhere like that. You just can’t “. I heard my dad say “It’s already arranged. He’s going. The transporters will be coming for him “.

I had no idea where I was supposed to be being sent to or what transporters were but I was soon to find out.
