Entry #01: Hello World, I’m Joseph 🌐✨
Welcome to my corner of the web! Since this is the very first post on FriendRewind, I figured it’s only right to officially introduce myself.
I’m Joseph. I’m a student leader, creator, digital archaeologist, and someone who is permanently nostalgic for eras of technology and design that felt a lot more alive than what we have today.
If you love glossy aesthetics, vintage hardware, or creative world-building, you’re in the right place.
The Blueprint: Who Am I?
To get a sense of what makes me tick, you just have to look at a few of my favorite obsessions:
Retro Tech & Digital Archaeology: I have a massive soft spot for 2000s-era mobile hardware and operating systems. There’s something completely unmatched about the tactile era of tech—give me a T9 keyboard or an imported vintage flip phone over a modern glass brick any day.
The Aesthetic Matrix: My design philosophy is heavily inspired by the Y2K, McBling, and Frutiger Aero movements. Think high-gloss textures, hot pinks, tech-utopian blues, clean typography, and a futuristic-yet-cozy vibe.
Pop Culture Lore: When I'm not tweaking code or working on layouts, I'm usually deep-diving into the universe of Sailor Moon or analyzing the gritty dystopian world of The Hunger Games.
Performance & Leadership: Beyond the screen, I’m heavily involved in leadership as a student officer, and I have a huge passion for the performing arts—specifically color guard and winter guard.
Why FriendRewind?
I chose this website because I missed the era of the internet where your digital footprint actually felt personal. Today’s social media is hyper-optimized, corporate, and honestly a bit boring.
FriendRewind is my personal time machine. It’s a place where I can document my projects, share my fashion and creative blogging concepts (like my vision for Vector Vogue), archive my favorite retro tech setups, and build a modern community identity that honors the best parts of the past.
I cant wait to make new online friends!!!!! Now lets be kind and HIT REWIND!!!!!
