VIOLENCE.

You definitely have heard of that word. You may have experienced it before. Whether you're the victim or the perpetrator. You may also have seen it before. But do we really understand it? 

For as long as i have lived, which is not long because im only 16, we're never truly far from violence. It exist in one form or another, and i feel like the majority of people have been on both sides of the coin. And just like how it exist in many form, it also exist pretty much everywhere. 

School, work, religious places, and so on, and so on. But, by far, the prime example of it is marriage. While violence goes both ways, we shouldnt take away from the fact that woman suffered the most.

Evil Dead Burn might just gave us a profound look of the situation (in my opinion). But first, i want to talk about how amazing this film is for its sheer production. Disgusting, bizzare, nasty, might describe the film best. Evil Dead is starting to become a favorite franchise of mine, after watching this one and Evil Dead Rise.

I have watched many horror films before just by myself, but something about Evil Dead Burn just makes me want to close my eyes. I came up with a term for it after finishing the film, slowburn death. 

Death, most of the time, is treated as the ultimate fate for characters. While it is true, Evil Dead Burn put its characters in a series of torture, to the point where death might just be a better fate. It also has amazing suspense value with its style of filmmaking.

Not to mention, the film also features some of the most unhinged scenes ever, reminding me that gross is one of the best element to be implemented in horror. There's a particular scene that i want to talk about, which is when Susan and Edgar kissed each other. Absolutely bizzare, but scenes like that reminds me just how weird horror can be. 

But Evil Dead Burn isnt just amazing production-wise. It also brought up a topic, that i feel like kept on getting ignored. Violence and abuse in marriage. Its a sensitive topic for sure. But Evil Dead Burn gave their voice about the topic through the horror of being in that situation.

Our main character, Alice, is a victim of violence in marriage. She perhaps, is the clearest example that was shown in the film. My take is that, the film is putting us on her shoes, through the terrifying creature of deadites. Yes she is trying to survive from being killed by those who have already been possessed, but perhaps it's an interpretation of how scary it can be to live in that situation.

Because throughout the film, Alice is tortured both physically and mentally. We as the audience felt how tired she is, how frustrating the predicament is. And i would even go as far to say that, it maybe just a fraction of how terrifying it can be in real life. Not to mention, it happened to all the woman in the film. 

So this review is dedicated to ackowledging the topic of violence while also appreciating how amazing of a horror film, Evil Dead Burn is. 

I hope the best for everyone who has been a victim of violence, and there is no excuse behind the action. I just want to say, that if you are currently in situations like this, please do reach out to someone, and know that there is always hope for you.

Evil Dead Burn has given me a great time, it is definitely one of the best horror film of the year. The ending couldve been better though. Im excited to watch anything this franchise has to offer now.
