"If he was meant to be alive, he would have been stronger."
(before you enter, her design has a lot of scars, be warned!)

Exauditae is my second character in my campaign that started with the Strixhaven module but expanded into a homebrew world and story!
She's a level 7 Order of the Ghostslayer Bloodhunter. Knowing the campaign would feature a lot of undead enemies, I decided to make a character the DM couldn't kill and would kill enemies way before she'd even go down, since losing my last character was soooo devastating.

She's an aasimar, but in the setting, the Gods closed the heavens, so she couldn't just be born from a god. So she's born as a sort of conduit from the holy magic from unanswered prayers. Her parents were theologians ruined by the closing of the heavens, so they sought to protect her by killing her so no one would harness her divine energy for unsavory purposes.
When she was being sacrificed, however, another kingdom's military (who had waged war on her home kingdom) caught a young girl's cries and killed her parents. So she grew up in a country, believing the general who saved her to be her father. She was given a mask to cover her scar from the incident, but wears her other various scars with pride, often needing new skin available to use her magic.

One time, a dhampyr npc tried to bite her in combat and he missed (so we headcannoned he bit into her scar tissue and couldn't break it).
Having this holy energy, the new kingdom sought to make her a holy weapon capable of protecting the city and learning the secrets to old rituals. For years she would be experimented on in various (torturous) ways until she finally made a breakthrough. The magic worked, and Exauditae's holy blood lit with radiant flames.

She was kitted with a rapier (flavored like a lance) and a shield, as well as a hunting rifle. Her rifle is fitted with a blade on the end, so when she shoots the recoil stabs into her shoulder, allowing her to use Blood Maledict or her Crimson Rites.

Exauditae is often stoic, especially as regards her dealing with her nation's council, expositors and military personnel. and has become her party's funeral director as members have died somewhat steadily since her introduction. She's lawful neutral, believing what benefits her country is good, no matter the means. Since she is good for her country, what benefits her is good, no matter the means.

She believes she can do anything, as she was destined and created to be the best for her city. She can overcome any obstacle, as she's become a master at tuning out physical pain. She is holy for a reason, and hopes to help people with their grief since the Gods (most often) refuse to.
“I will ensure the prayers for you are heard.”
She's so much fun to play. I'm usually not too much of a martial person, and being able to actually tank stuff is soso fun.
