fast fashion n' alterntive fashion

so i've seen this stance that "buying a top from *insert fast fashion brand* and wearing it till it falls apart doesn't make you any less alternative than a person that buys a really expensive top" which is uhm....not true in my opinion.

buying from a fast fashion place is only acceptable if its for a necessity that you otherwise wouldn't be able to afford.but having stylish clothing while something you may want is not something you absolutely need.

to add to that there's plenty of cheap options that don't use fast fashion,like customising things you already own,buying at a thrift store,using other family members clothes they don't want anymore,from what i can tell a pretty decent part of being any style of alternative is making things yourself.

plus its really fun to put effort into something and then wearing it or showing it off,you know how nice it is for someone to compliment something and then you can be like "thanks i made it!" and then they're all shocked and showering you in compliments.

there's so many tutorials out there or you can make something up,either way i don't think you should buy fast fashion (wow,shocking and revolutionary stance....sarcasm obvi)
