Favorite Releases of 2026! (Deathcore, Mathcore, Myspace Revival, Metalcore, Scene)

Hello, Worm here again at the half way point of the year with a list of some of my favorite releases of 2026. These releases will lean mostly to deathcore, mathcore, and metalcore with a few pop releases sprinked in. My list with Balmora aged horrible as the band got cancelled the day after I had them in a list so hopefully that doesnt repeat itself. I cant cover every song, ep, and album so I'm just going to post what I have rated highly on my AOTY account as well as what I have a lot of plays on through Stats FM. If I miss a song you think is cool send me a rec, and if you make a list of your own send it my way so I can expand my horizons.

1. Dehumanized - Bring Me The Horizon
Without further adieu, if you know me you would have seen this the moment you read the title. Yeah, Dehumanized is a banger. One of the best Bring Me The Horizon and Deathcore songs of the year. Originally a hidden track people believed would be a remake of their Eyeless cover, Dehumanized proved that BMTH knew how to keep writing original deathcore. The riffs, for one, are slamming and brutal. Melodic death metal to the max, and the vocal performance is crisp. If I make an end of year album drop, yeah CYB Re will be on it lol.

2. ABUSE OF A CORPSE - Lilith's Demise
Lilith's Demise has been a band I had on the back burner of my taste. I knew of the band since the 2024 EP but they were never a band I binged. I watched Ana's screaming tutorials but that was about it, but when ABUSE OF A CORPSE dropped, holy shit. This song rips. The highs, the lows, the breakdown at the end. The best performance this band has had. They went from a backburner band to a front and center band that I have had on repeat with this song and I'm actively keeping an ear out for new releases and announcements.

3. This Is Goodbye... - Chamber
Chambers latest album is an album I think is pushing mathcore further in the 2020s with its peers in their respective bands. In Chambers case the band combines mathcore with beatdown hardcore with hard riffs and breakdowns. I like the Carbomb influence and the atmosphere that is in the songs before they break into chaos.

4, 5, 6. The Electropop Section Before I Jump Back Into Hardcore - Pop Artists
If you know me, you know I cant help sneaking some Charli xcx into the conversation because I have a soft spot for electropop and hyperpop. While this doesnt fit into "scene" I really did enjoy this new song and is making me excited for her new album. I dont think anything is topping Brat but I can see this being in the top 3 of her albums with Brat and Charli. Detour by Kim Petras was another masterpiece to me that I think deserves to be in the conversation with other highly rated pop albums. Kim Petras made albums I thought were just kinda okay so it was amazing to see her drop a complete banger. And U - Underscores is an album I had on repeat when it dropped. Ive liked Underscores for a while since I got into hyperpop during lockdown, so of course I had to mention her new album here.

7. Callous Daoboys Single + Leak
The Callous Daoboys are easily my favorite modern band. Celebrity Therapist is my favorite hardcore album of the 2020s and they are the driving force of mathcore in the 2020s. They keep it absurd and their genre blending's are tasteful and entertaining. Every twist on their first two albums are complete gold. They dropped Gigantic Parasite Tongue recently with a killer breakdown and a nice melodic part, and a nice touch to their mathcore sound after diving into a lot of alt metal during their 2025 release. The teased song on twitter with the Carbomb / Danza vibes are amazing and I bet it will make it to the end of year list.

8. The Sins We Keep Awake - Unbroken Reign
My friends in UBR write some pretty sick metalcore that reminds me a lot of the 2010s era with Memphis May Fire and Woe, Is Me. They also drop some deathcore in this album which was unexpected, but a very nice twist. The members are good people too so that's a bonus. But yeah, these bands are hitting the 2010s near the end of myspace metalcore so if you like bands like Of Mice & Men, The Color Morale, and blessthefall you would get enjoyment out of this.

9. All In The Name Of Entertainment - Ashes At Last
AAL is bringing back crabcore with this album with ties to deathcore and nintendocore. The band uses an abundance of autotune, screams, and sick melodic riffings which puts this album in my favorite crabcore releases, as a guy who doesnt really listen to much crabcore anymore. The song titles are silly, the songs are over the top, everything you want from a crabcore revival band.

10. Afraid Of The Dark - Motionless In White
Afraid Of The Dark is definitely the best song the band has had in over a decade, the riffs were sick, the synths were reminiscent of Creatures era. The song came out early in the year and it was a banger. It lowkey carries the hype that the album has considering Playing Gods lyrics. But yeah Afraid Of The Dark is how MIW should sound like in the modern era. But yeah this song was peak, when it was the only single from the album believe me the hype was unreal.

Sorry to dig MIW lol just wanted to. But yeah these arent in any order, and its not the only bangers of 2026 just 10 I could think of. If I missed any bangers lmk!
