fear in x-men

i used to complain about x-men always circling back to being hated and feared and never progressing, but lowk now seeing how backwards america is headin. i'm inclined to agree that persecution realistically doesn't end. people sometimes say that its lazy writing just to circle back every era, resetting back to humans fearing mutants but i think its more realistic now than ever. its the whole thesis that hate doesn't evolve just because technology does.
