✞ FIRST DIGITAL COLLAGE ✞

Last night, I couldn't sleep, so I tried to be productive and decided to try something I'd never done before: digital collage. Well, I don't really know if we can REALLY call it a digital collage, but it's kind of similar, I guess. Anyways, I was inspired by the song "Kiss Me Until My Lips Fall Off" by Lebanon Hanover (one of my favorite bands). I took a bunch of pictures from Pinterest, then played around with the B&W settings in Lightroom (free version only), removed the backgrounds, converted them from JPEG to PNG, and then made the collage in Adobe Illustrator.

Here it is ! I made two version : one with only the title/lyrics of the song, and another one with grapefruit. Here are some clue to understand my choices

• These lyrics talks about having someone in our life that would follows us trhough life, death, decomposition and beyond (chorus : " Kiss me until my lips fall off, kiss me until I start to rot, kiss me until Kingdom come, forever, forever"). This is why I wanted to add a pomegranate: a powerful symbol of love, but also a fruit that can evoke the idea of consuming and being consumed, echoing the song’s themes of love, decomposition and death.
• I wanted to add a religious aspect since  "kiss me until Kingdom comes" refers to Heaven

DO NOT hesitate to gave me advices or any ideas, I really want to improve in this practice, but for a first try I'm still pretty proud of myself even tho the composition is pretty simple.
