First utau voicebank!

Hiii, guess who it is!! It's Bora again, unsurprisingly.

Anyway, I wanted to share what i did this week end. I made my first utau voicebank!

I used oremo to record myself and used setparam to idk do the rest and sort the recordings. I decided to not go down the easiest route and actually created a VCV voicebank on four different pitches. It was absolute hell! My throat hurt so much from recording over 500 sequences of japanese syllables. I did it in japanese because it just seemed easier because there are a lot less sounds than english, for exemple, and the songs I want to cover are in japanese anyway

Just setting up everything took me a day and a half. Thanks youtube and reddit for existing because I wouldn't have made it without the tutorials on there

I wanted to use classic utau at first, because i didnt know better but really, if you're just getting started with a voicebank, whether yours or someone else's, just use open utau. I had so many problems and bugs using classic utau that didn't happen on openutau, so that's just my advice

Anyway, I spent the rest of my sunday making a cover with my very own voicebank. The voicebank surprisingly turned out pretty ok?? I didn't expect anything but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm shit at tuning though so it doesn't exactly sound amazing but whatever, at least I tried

I covered Romeo and Cinderella by doriko, I did random shit for tuning and even that turned alright, especially for a first try with a shitty voicebank and even shittier tuning skills considering I discovered openutau literally yesterday

Maybe someday I'll post my covers, probably not though. I'm currently working on making a cover for Leming Ming by Kairiki Bear, so we'll see how that one turns out

Anyway that's it! If you have some time on your hands and like vocaloids, make your own voicebank, it's fun (though a little frustrating at times)
