Friend Request

Ok this might be absolutely dumb but I have a little bit of a question

I cant friend a few people and I was wondering if it was about age and stuff cuz I lied abt my age and was wondering if that like...screwed me or something

A few people who I looked into friending had the friend request thing grayed out and a few of them were minors but like...I'm friends with a 16 y/o rn?? Was that like grandfathered in or?

This sounds hella weird but I promise its not like that
