Is it just me or has gaming genuinely died out? Back then we used to have amazing games getting pumped out left and right with good gameplay and amazing storytelling, But lately this past years we been getting rushed out boring slop games or just releases and remastered games that don’t need remastering or a remake.
I guess it’s good for next gen consoles but what’s the point paying 65$ for a remaster of a game when you can just play the non remake for a fraction of the price makes gen no sense
maybe i am overreacting

Play dead as disco!!! It's like my favorite game rn, the storyline is pretty interesting and if you like music and fighting it's perfect!! It's in early access and you will have to buy it but it's so good trust, I also recommend hypnospace outlaw. It's like if you were a moderator on my space kinda. It's got a sick retro vibe! I was gonna make a videogame but I realized it was a bit too ambitious so I'm gonna write a book instead and hope it does well enough for a studio to pick it up or something. Dunno how likely that is, kind of just want to get the story out there.

Hm, I do get your point here and I understand you.
I kinda feel the same way.
But for releases of ports on Modern Home Video Game Consoles.... I'd say I understand it if it's an Arcade Game that haven't had a Perfect Port on a Home Video Game Console.
Like "Virtua Racing" for example.... Could've been close to Original Arcade Game on Sega Saturn but since they just lended it to a Third Party Developer without even giving them the Source Code and refused to do so.
It turned out underwhelming and quite of a disappointment.
They did port it on Sony PlayStation 2, but it was a low effort port and quite worse than the Sega Saturn Port.
But then in Nintendo Switch, they did an Arcade Perfect Conversion of it.... Quite disappointing at first because of washed out colours but with the Patch Update it was fixed and finally Arcade Perfect.
NAMCO on the other hand with "Ace Driver" they never ported it anywhere unfortunately and I don't get why they scrapped the planned Sony PlayStation Port.
But now they ported it on Modern Home Video Game Consoles.
So yeah if these Modern Releases are Arcade Ports of games that either didn't get an Arcade Perfect Conversion or never been ported anywhere else then I give it a pass.
But if it's Re-Releases that's been widely available (cough) (cough) like what Nintendo has been doing like Super Mario Bros. for a millionth time even though it's been released before and could be played anywhere else then yeah it's pointless and I'm not interested on buying it.

I was about to disagree bc ive been playing this amazing game that I've got about 20 hours in even tho I've only had it for about two three days.... then I remembered it was a 3ds game that came out like...early 2000s...
you have a point it seems...
fr tho i know what you mean, looking back on the absolute hype games like pokopia had that died out within a week of it coming out was wild, especially for how expensive it was.
