Getting to be what I always wanted when I was young

I’m glad to see these kind of website comming back. And my teen self would be very happy to see me now.

I’m transitionning my style back to my default setting (after a few years in the pinup world): Alt.

I remember when I was younger how I always looked at alt people with envy. Their sense of style was something very hard to achieve as a teen for me. I had no funds to buy cool clothes like theirs. Fast fashion wasn’t a thing back then, so we didn’t have access to that many alt items, hence the chances ending with the same outfit as others were higher.

But mostly, I was raised in a very strict household that made it very difficult to express myself through my fashion choices. Back then, my mother wouldn’t allow me to dye my hair, didn’t like the fact that I wanted to wear mostly black, and critiqued my music choices. These kind of things always made me mad. I can say it without a doubt today: it was about control. And also because of people’s opinion. My mother was probably ashamed back then to have a kid that loved darker shit.

But now, I got several piercings and counting, planning on getting tattoos (just gotta find the right artist), long black hair, lots of makeup and mainly dark clothing. I’m cool, or at least young me would find me cool. I’m the kind of person my young self would have followed for fashion advice.

So my friend, it can take time to get to where you want to be. But you will, eventually❤️

Kudos: 4
