GHOSTS

Let’s believe in ghosts and in things that move on their own. There is a ghost for every object around us, but perhaps, if we replace the word “ghost” with “vibration,” we could better understand that all matter has its own frequency. We cannot see the wave of music, but we can feel its vibration.

Can things feel? No. But think about it: their lifespan and condition depend on your care. Just as one human being depends on another.

Could a human survive alone? No.

Would an object remain in good condition on its own? No.

Are robots afraid? No. But if a robot is abandoned and its system is not updated frequently, it could get a virus and change its program (organism). A sick robot?

We separate so much of what we consider alive, animated, mechanical, or artificial. And, if you ask me, I find no difference between them other than the moral value and importance that human beings choose to give to each one.

We create tools and machines out of necessity, out of lack, for assistance, for evolution, for understanding, out of desire, and for pleasure. Creation, one could say, is made of sexual desires—desires that are not so superficial. We only have to compare bringing a living being into the world with the way we build things: they take time, they require care, and most importantly, they need a purpose.

Sexuality without purpose is merely pleasure, and yet that pleasure often brings consequences.

So what happens when we create an object solely for pleasure?

The frequency of matter becomes a ghost when it does something we do not understand and does not function according to the way it was designed.

That is why AI could be a beast. That is why ghosts exist.
