me as a parxie, waterparks fan or parxenjoyer (oo ma gad), am seeing a lot of bad takes about this song called GIRLS NEED GUNS from their latest album, JINX, that came up just a few days ago.
here's the lyrics if ya want context
this song, in short, is a recorded conversation between awsten knight (parx' singer) and his mother, talking about the recurrent control over women's decisions, including abortion. it's imo one of the best parx songs ever made and maybe one of the rawest songs i've ever listened to.
but now i've seen some "parxies" (cuz sorry, your not a real waterparks fan for me if you're saying this kind of stuff) saying this song is "performative".
honestly lately parxies seem to be the worst kind of haters, cuz they're trying to cancel awsten for EVERYTHING, even for things they can't argument. that's fuckin shitty, it just makes us as a community get apart and grow unjustified hate towards the artists we actually love for things we just- overthink yk
if you ask me, i think that you just gotta listen to the song to notice what i'm talking about. it's a great song. it's a really hard experience. and it's a must for everybody honestly.
but idk, parxies starting fighting, what's new ig
