If someone asks me : "Oh what sport do you do?" I either don't have an answer or just say taekwondo even though I haven't went to training since last year... The thing is that it was pretty fun. I always like running in circles to warm up because I can always imagine cool stuff in my head while doing it, like I'm some badass hero about to collide with the enemy and cause an explosion, which is of course accompanied by fitting music. It's awkward doing it in public and at home my parents would laugh because at their teenager is running around in circles at home. The uniform also didn't really fit me but I never had the courage to ask for a new one because we already had to go one size up and I already felt fat enough. And the people we're also annoying as fuck so that's another reason I left.
Well since I did that I didn't really get all that active anymore. I left the house, went for a walk once in a while, rode my bike when I felt too shitty being at home doing nothing but I also stopped doing that because my bike's wheels are low on air and I haven't really had the motivation to ask my father where the air pump is. Besides that I didn't really do nothing and I felt like I didn't have any good options either, at least for me.
Running? Hell nah my endurance is ass and that also goes back to the whole running in circles in public but.
Ball sports? Nope. 1, I suck ass at most and 2 you need to register for a club and play in teams and I don't like that either. If I don't like the people or fuck something up the whole experience will be ruined for me and I can't leave too early or my mother is gonna be mad she invested money in the first place.
But then I got to swimming and I quite frankly don't know why I didn't go earlier. Maybe because I couldn't find my bathing suit and didn't have the drive to ask or because of something else I dunno. Because there's actually 2 public swimming pools in my area that I both visited numerous times before, mostly for school or in school trips. But I went again today and it was actually really freaking fun.
It's super easy to navigate, just paying, changing and getting in the water, I can go on my own time, nobody is forcing me to go at a certain speed and I can push myself however much I need, I'm constantly in the water so I can't get sweaty ,which is a big plus aaaaaannndd the vibe is just mad chill. Especially on the bus ride home.
I hope to go there more often. It's really cheap and fun and gets me active more. And because it's indoors I can swim all year round :D
