i don't do much for my hair,my mom just buys whatever shampoo(sometimes its hand soap) and conditioner is cheapest at the time, the only thing i really do is apply coconut oil to it sometimes,my hair is curly so i brush it when its wet most of the time, sometimes i brush it when its dry cuz i have to,it gets tangled and after i braid it,so i was wondering, what do you do for your hair and do you have any budget friendly tips/options?

i used to be super high maintenance with my curly hair and do all the routines and finger coiling and stuff and it just takes forever. i got sick of it so i stopped caring and chopped all my hair off but this is what i did while it was long. all you really need is any shampoo, a good conditioner for your hair (u either want it to be a thicker or a lighter consistency depending on how coarse or fine your hair is) and either a gel or a mousse. i prefer mousse because its light and foamy and doesnt leave my hair as crunchy as gel.
for styling honestly just brush it while its wet and has product in it. i do my hair only in the shower because i hate getting my shirt wet when i do my hair at the sink. if you have a lot of hair you can section it into like four sections and brush them individually but dont overthink it tbh. also i like to use a small scalp scrubber when shampooing to really get in there. a lot of people with curly hair say not to shampoo your ends but thats a lie especially if you use a lot of product on the ends of your hair. you need to make sure you clean out the old product fully before restyling your hair or else youll have a ton of build up and your hair will become harder to work with and less shiny.
also make sure you get your hair trimmed. having a ton of split ends makes your hair tangle up wayyyy more often.
i used to always air dry my hair even tho i had a diffuser because it just takes up a lot of time and energy i didnt have. invest in a bonnet or a silk scarf though bc itll help you go more days without styling your hair all over again. just fluff up your hair in the mornings and if you want your hair to feel a bit softer you can use a little bit castor oil or something similar.
also braiding your hair while wet is a good way to have a simple style when you take it out but be sure not to do it too often/make sure your hair isnt soaking wet because it will take a long time to dry and all the moisture trapped inside the braid will start to smell.
i do have a bonnet i just rarely use it because silky/satin textures gross me out but i should use it again, thank you

i can't say much to help you because i have short, wavy hair. i usually just put an appropriate amount of shampoo + conditioner, but i do think that rosemary oil (or water idk) does your hair wonders, as well as this mix of egg and olive oil (you crack an egg or two into a bowl and apply a bit of olive oil, mix it up, put it in your hair for like 20 minutes) and it adds shine and makes it healthier. also i know many people with long curly hair and they say you defo shouldn't brush it when its dry. instead you should put it up or in a braid to hide the tangles because curly hair apparently gets really frizzy and messy when its dry and brushed. hope i helped in some way at least lol
it did,i might try that egg thing, when we buy some, though we don't have olive oil...
