Oh my gosh, you guys, spooky season is officially here and I am literally vibrating with excitement.
If you know me at all, you know that October isn't just a month to me, it is an entire personality trait. The exact second the calendar flipped to October 1st, my room became a total autumn aesthetic, my Spotify playlist switched to 100% eerie vibes, and I started counting down the literal milliseconds until the 31st. I am not even exaggerating when I say I have been waiting for this all year.
First of all, the vibe shift right now is just immaculate. The air is finally crisp, the leaves are doing that super satisfying crunchy thing under my shoes, and everything everywhere smells like pumpkin spice or cinnamon. It feels like living inside a movie, and I am so here for it.
But honestly, the best part of the entire month is the absolute chaos of figuring out costumes. My Pinterest board has been a complete disaster zone since July. Iβve been bouncing between doing a nostalgic 2000s group look with my besties, going as a total pop culture icon, or just doing a classic makeup look. Our group chat is literally blowing up 24/7 with links and screenshots because we cannot make up our minds. Honestly, getting ready together with a massive pile of makeup and music blasting is probably going to be half the fun anyway.
When Iβm not stressing over what to wear, I am fully in my cozy era. Every single night after homework, I wrap myself in the biggest fuzzy blanket I can find, light way too many candles, turn off all the lights, and put on a movie. Iβve already rewatchedΒ Hocus PocusΒ andΒ TwitchesΒ for the childhood nostalgia, and obviously, Iβm tearing through theΒ ScreamΒ movies because Ghostface never gets old.
My weekends are also completely booked because Iβm forcing everyone in my life to do every single fall activity before the month ends. We already went to a pumpkin patch mostly just for the aesthetic photos and the apple cider donuts, and next up is a corn maze where we will definitely get lost and argue about directions. Plus, there has been a lot of late-night baking involving way too much of that Pillsbury ghost cookie dough.
Halloween night is just around the corner and I am so, so ready for the candy, the costumes, and making the best memories with my favorite people.
What are you guys dressing up as this year? Tell me everything in the comments! Stay spooky! -β¨Conan killed Bonanβ¨
