HARD launching my hate for kurt cobain / ramble #24

i really hate kurt cobain. his music is fine his band is fine he’s kinda cute but bro 😭  Some of the things yall let him get away with is crazy

like don’t get me wrong he was pretty progressive for his time but actions speak a lot louder than words. I don’t blame people for liking kurt at all but i feel like he’s presented SO insanely angelic for no reason.. like who’s gonna bring up that he was lowk an emotional and physical abuser ??? and also as much as he preached about women’s right he definitely didn’t really respect them i GUESS…. 😭😭😭

Also his relationship with tobi vail leaves a bad taste in my mouth… and the song “About a girl” about her.. he was always so bad to his gfs can we talk about this 😭😭😭 ESPECIALLY Courtney his wife. I know i’m biased for Courtney but genuinely i feel as though Courtney got hugely blamed for a lot of stuff KURT did to her. 

Most of the stuff kurt did is alleged (but so is the stuff ppl say courtney did so whatever)

1. FIRST HE PHYSICALLY ABUSED COURTNEY!!!! and was arrested for domestic assault (he had pushed her and choked her over an argument..)

2. was an absolutely shit dad (yes he dropped francis on her head.. and used constantly around her) and definitely convinced courtney it was her issue (i do genuinely believe courtney was abused but convinced it was her fault, OOPS anyways…)

3. threated his life to courtney because she didn’t sleep with him (which was a common leverage for him… he did a lot of similar things to this)

4. loveddddd cheating on courtney (which courtney obviously knew.. she spoke about in many interviews about an “unnamed asshole”)

5. Sexually took advantage of a girl with down syndrome… (this one is pretty iffy not 100% sure)

6. tbh probably said the n-word more times than courtney ever has in her whole career

7. tbh my opinion but he does completely come across to me as a pretentious manchild with tantrums.. im sorry kurt fans.

8. totally took advantage of his other girl friends for money and labor and he could be a useless BUM… also maybe i’m wrong but why did he never mention how kathleen hanna named smells like teen spirit 😭😭😭

aside from those reasons i feel like people try SO hard to justify these things by trying to off balance it with bare minimum things like

“oh but he was a feminist, oh he saved a fan from getting SA’ed, ohhh but he was a bipolar addict”

boo fucking hoo bro if you were the victim of anything he did you would be so mad at someone saying that about it 😭😭😭

i will admit once again i am slightly biased.. i knew someone similar to kurt and they most certainly treated me poorly LOL (they cut me off after i told them i didn’t like kurt cobain…) and also courtney love is my childhood hero so sorryyyyyy…

TO BE CLEAR no hate to any nirvana fans or kurt fans i like their music and i do understand the appeal of the band, but please do hold people accountable and i really don’t like this narrative that’s been painted about him and no one cares to address anything he did
