has anyone seen the father/son dynamic between montag and beatty in the fahrenheit 451 movie

my gosh it's such a unique way to portray them. the way beatty is so empty inside and he considers montag kind of like his own child who he has to raise and bring back to the herd of sheep, just to see him go astray from your own beliefs but you don't wanna rely on anyone and it's either your job or your "son". there's so many parts where you can see that he doesn't want to hurt him despite him having this cold exterior, and the scene where he screams while burning montag is so sincere it's amazing

i feel like in the original book, beatty found montag amusing and let himself die because he himself was empty, but that emptiness took itself in the form of apathy and seeing things as a passing amusement and seeing montag one who questions reality and goes on this whole spree probably intrigues him
