Horror movies ARE political and horror movies ARE slowly becoming more FEMINIST (we cheered)

I said what i said, yeah i do believe that Horror movies are way more political than what "they lead" and if you want my recomendation of "political horror movies" here's MY list:

- The chainsaw massacre

- SAW

- Funny games 1997

- American psycho

- They live

- The puge (the most obvious one)

- Pan's labyrinth

- Get out

- Us

- His house

- Slanted

And in this time where we need more feminism more than we ever did, there are horror movies that are a direct reference to feminism, there's :

- Obsession

- Jennyfer's body

- Carrie

- The witch

- Raw

- Teeth

- Men

- Midsommar

So i'd say that yes horror movies are political- take American psycho for exemple, it's literally a movie that critics the patriarchy, men and toxic masculinity but what did the men that watched the movie do ????? Completely disregard the message of the movie, start using the movie as an aesthetic....

I also know that most of the movies that i mentionned are from long time ago because fun fricking fact "femisnist horror" was always a thing HOWEVER- with how succesfull OBSESSION was and how OBVIOUS it's message and who the general public target was, obsession/2026 just opened the door for more "acceptance" of the genre of "feminist horror" and also "created" a new genre of movie called "incel horror" that i am so excited to see how movie directors are gonna use this.

There were always "incel horror" movie because the word incel is a slang now used to describ some of the most disgusting human being that just happened to be mens IMO BUT- there was always horror movies that criticized thoses types of dudes, we have:

- The invisible man

- Maniac

- Creep

- Watcher

- FRESH (ESPECIALLY THIS ONE)

So yeah this whole blog entry just to share my POV on a matter that i find intersting and important because at the end of the day it is that important for us woman, for us woman of color, for people of color, for the minorities, for everyone that is facing these horror everyday and no get taken seriously and for the woman that faced, faces an d will still face the horror of man's twisted minds, cowardice.

(OBVIOUSLY NOT ALL MEN DON'T COME ON THE COMMENT TRYING TO BE WEIRD IF YOU DON'T CORRESPOND TO THE MEN I AM TALKING ABOUT THEN YOU SHOULD BE FINE! IF YOU GET ANGRY AT WHAT I WROTE THEN PLEASE DO SOME SELF REFLECTION)

I'd like to finish by quoting a review of the movie obsession on letter box "A man who is at war with himself will always disrupt a woman's piece"

Kudos: 1
