im only 14, but my parents made sure to show me things that were way before my time. i grew up on 2000s television and totally missed out on what people my age were actually watching. i have no idea what "the classics" are for my friends because i was watching things that were much older. it really sucks because in lgbtq+ spaces where im encouraged to make friends i have no idea what to do. everyone is having so much fun talking to their friends about hazbin hotel or the new trend and i just feel so out of it. im glad my parents didnt raise me as an ipad baby but i completely dont know what my generation is into, making it difficult to find things that me and some other person like. its one of the most isolating feelings i have experienced. everyone around me is having a good time while all i can talk about is depeche mode and barbershop music like genuinely what???!!?
